We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our practice team and provide high-quality care to our patients.

The successful candidate will work closely with our GPs, Practice Nurses and wider clinical team, supporting the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a GP practice Is confident undertaking clinical observations and routine clinical procedures. Has phlebotomy experience Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is compassionate, approachable and able to put patients at ease. Works well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Has excellent attention to detail and understands the importance of accurate record keeping. Is organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload. Is committed to maintaining professional standards and patient confidentiality. Is willing to learn and develop their skills within the role.

Main duties of the job

Main responsibilities

The role will include, but is not limited to:

Undertaking routine clinical observations, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturations and BMI. Carrying out phlebotomy/blood tests where appropriately trained. Performing ECGs. Completing NHS health checks and other preventative health assessments. Supporting chronic disease monitoring and reviews. Undertaking urinalysis and other routine investigations. Assisting with wound care and other clinical procedures within your competency. INR monitoring Vaccinations if trained Recording accurate clinical information and maintaining high-quality patient records. Supporting the practice with clinical administrative tasks where required. Working collaboratively with the wider practice team to provide excellent patient care. Maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control, confidentiality and patient safety.
