About us At Dorothy House Hospice Care, our In-Patient Unit provides specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses, focusing on symptom management, holistic care and helping people achieve the best possible quality of life. As a Registered Nurse within our hospice team, you'll deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care whilst working alongside a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team.

REGISTERED NURSE | Band 5 | £16.40 - £19.97 per hour

Part Time: working 22.5 hours per week (Shifts consisting of a mix of earlies, lates, and nights)

Location: Winsley, Wiltshire

WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

As a Registered Nurse, you will work as part of our specialist In-Patient Unit team to provide outstanding palliative and end of life care. Your responsibilities will include:

Assessing patients' physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs, developing individualised plans of care alongside patients and their familiesDelivering and evaluating high-quality nursing care using evidence-based practiceWorking collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care from admission through to dischargeSupporting patients and families through complex symptom management and end of life care planningProviding professional advice and support through hospice services when requiredTaking charge of the clinical environment when appropriate and supporting colleagues across the nursing teamContributing to clinical audit, quality improvement, education and service development activitiesMaintaining accurate patient records and ensuring care is delivered in line with professional standards and hospice policies

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

* First Level Registered Nurse with active registration

Desirable

* Teaching experience or relevant teaching qualification

Experience Essential

* Experience delivering evidence-based nursing care * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when supporting patients with complex care needs * Demonstrating attributes that reflect care, compassion and willingness to support patients and their families through their end of life journey * Experience of medicines management and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team * Experience contributing to quality improvement, audit or service improvement activities

Desirable

* Experience using clinical systems and Microsoft Office applications, including SystmOne * Knowledge of, or experience within, palliative care and end of life care services
