Job summary
If you are a motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with experience of working in an acute theatre and recovery setting looking for a new experience, we have a great opportunity for you within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust's Pain Management Centre based at Charing Cross Hospital.
The ideal candidate will join our team contributing to the day-to-day care of outpatients undergoing invasive, pain-relieving procedures, working in both the procedure room and recovery area, supporting our pain consultant team.

This may involve cross-site working within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Applicants will need demonstrable evidence of relevant previous work experience perioperative setting or the equivalent transferrable skills (for example, high dependency unit) as either a nurse or allied healthcare professional, although no formal theatre or recovery qualification is required.

Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients attending services provided by the pain management clinics Assisting in the daily management of the day-case procedure list, working in our purpose built theatre and recovery area. Responsible for the efficient and timely running of the clinic by ensuring safety of patients and the maintenance of equipment and clinic supplies. Participation in nurse-led Qutenza, clinical audit processes, patient feedback that will support work and relationships within the pain service across the Trust. Education/ qualifications Essential
Registered nurse / Operating Department Practitioner Ability to practice within the scope of the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council/Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Degree
Desirable
Evidence of educational development within pain management Standards for student supervision and assessment SSSA (NMC) Relevant experience act as a supervisor mentor or assessor for students or Healthcare support workers. Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to development of others.
Experience Essential
Evidence of both Postoperative Recovery and Operating Theatre work experience Assess the patients' nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to ensure the delivery of effective patient care. Ensure the principles set out in the Fundamentals of Care are incorporated into daily practice to ensure a high-quality service for the patients and clients. Maintain patients nursing records to ensure information is accurate and up to date Participate in service development by contributing to the development of team, through unit/department meetings, audit and research.
