Job summary
We are looking for a receptionist to join our team for 31 hours a week:
The successful candidate will be required to be flexible with hours between 7am-8pm Monday to Friday to accommodate staff holidays etc.

Friday- 2pm- 7pm
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team.
Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, patient registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy) and assisting patients as required.
To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Main duties of the job
To support the practice clinical team by signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service, working as part of the practices multidisciplinary team.
The receptonist will also be expected to undertake reception duties as part of the role, supporting the administrative team in delivering a polite and professional service to the entitled patient population.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist.There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent on factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting conditionb. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requests appropriatelyc. Process patient requests for appointmentsd. Process repeat prescription requests via prescription clerke. Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agenciesf. Enter read/SNOMED CT code data on EMIS Webg. Photocopy documentation as requiredh. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as requiredi. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessaryj. Direct requests for information, e.g., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms, to the administrative teamk. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient mannerl. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all timesm. Monitor and maintain the reception area and noticeboardsn.
