We are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse to complement our existing nursing team.

The Practice Nurse will act autonomously within their professional scope of practice providing care for patients face to face, telephone consultations and, occasional home visits
About us
Ridgeway View Family Practice is a ~15,000 patient, busy General Practice surgery based across two sites in Wroughton and Chiseldon.
We are part of Brunel Healthcare Group (Brunel PCN 1) working together with other practices across Swindon to achieve best practice outcomes and economy of scale working. Examples of this are the former STEAM vaccination centre and our current joint Saturday Extended Access clinic.
We have a strong team of nurses, ACPs, Paramedic, Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescriber and highly trained GP Assistants, who mange the burden of referrals, clinical coding and correspondence.
We are fully embracing digital technologies and we buy in to services which cover our Extended Access requirement and offer our patients more accessibility. There is no working outside of core hours expected.
Brunel PCN 1 is one of the first "Approved Learning Organisations" in the area and as such as embrace learning and development within our practice and we enjoy hosting GP Registrars as well as Medical and Nursing students.

Job description Job responsibilities
Practice independently in accordance with NMC code of conduct and with reference to practice guidelines Maintain accurate documentation of care Ensure continuation of own personal and professional development, facilitated by clinical supervision networks. Provide support for HCAs and Trainee Nurses, as well as more junior nurses appropriate to level of competence Administer adult and child immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with national and local programmes. Competent in BLS, anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques as well as keeping up to date with all mandatory professional training. Chronic disease management. Up to date with latest wound care guidance. Cervical screening. Willing to work as part of a team to ensure that all essential nursing activities are completed and well managed. We are particularly interested in applications from Nurses with specialisms in Asthma / COPD, Women's Health (HRT), Heart Failure and Infection Control We are currently outsourcing Infection Prevention and Control work but this still requires a practice contact / co-ordinator and we are looking to recruit someone with experience or someone who is willing to develop in this area.
