About this role

This role is specifically linked to supporting an individual KS2 pupil with an EHCP.

Essential Skills:

Ability to support the pupil's personal care needs, in line with Local Authority guidance where requiredPast experience supporting a pupil/pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)Experience delivering planned, personalised, and multi-sensory learning activities based on pupils’ EHCP outcomes, under the direction of the Class TeacherConfidence in providing effective 1:1 support to pupilsConfidence using technology to capture pupil's learning and progress, to support the Class TeacherAbility to maintain effective ongoing communication and regular review processes between home and school Desirable Skills:

Experience working with children with complex communication needs, including autismExperience supporting non-verbal learnersKnowledge and experience in delivering multi-sensory approaches to learningTraining or experience in early communication strategies, such as Intensive Interaction, Makaton, Attention Autism (Bucket), and activities to develop communication and language (e.g. copying games, choice-making, matching activities)Experience supporting children with sensory processing difficultiesTraining in safer handling approaches (e.g. Team Teach)The successful applicant will:
