Cleaner - Alderman’s Green Primary SchoolAlderman’s Green Primary School is looking to appoint a reliable, hardworking and conscientious Cleaner to join our dedicated school team.
As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. Working as part of the school team, you will help maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school.
The roleYou will be responsible for cleaning designated areas of the school, including classrooms, communal areas, corridors and toilets. Duties will include:
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and washing floorsDusting and polishing surfaces, furniture and fixturesCleaning toilets and shower areas to a high standardEmptying bins and dealing with waste appropriatelyCleaning windows and other designated areasSafely using cleaning equipment and products in line with COSHH requirementsIdentifying and reporting hazards, spillages, damage or maintenance issuesHelping ensure the school is clean, safe and ready for pupils and staff each dayWhat we're looking forMost importantly, we are looking for someone who cares and takes pride in their work.

Reliable, punctual and responsibleThorough, with excellent attention to detailAble to work independently and as part of a teamAble to follow instructions and organise your workload effectivelyCommitted to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygieneProfessional and respectful when working around children, staff and visitorsWilling to learn and follow safe working practicesPrevious cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. No specific qualifications are required.

Position detailsSchool: Alderman’s Green Primary School Location: Alderman’s Green Road, Coventry, CV2 1PP Contract: Permanent Hours: 16 hours 15 minutes per week, 3.00pm-6.15pm Working weeks: 39 weeks per year Holiday working: One week during the school holidays will be required for deep cleaning, with dates agreed in advance Salary: Grade 1, Point 3 - £24,795.86 FTE / £9,493 pro rata Start date: As soon as possible Responsible to: Site Manager
