About this role

The Coleshill School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly effective Teacher of Social Sciences – Health and Social Care to join our supportive and ambitious team. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to deliver high-quality teaching that engages and challenges students and develops their knowledge, skills and understanding of Health and Social Care. The successful candidate will play an important role in inspiring students, supporting them to achieve their qualifications and preparing them for further study, training and employment.

Key responsibilities

Planning and delivering engaging, challenging and inclusive Health and Social Care lessons.Teaching students across the secondary age and ability range, adapting learning to meet individual needs.Developing students’ knowledge and understanding of Health and Social Care and supporting them to apply their learning to real-world contexts.Preparing, supporting and assessing students to achieve their qualifications and make strong progress.Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing effective feedback and implementing appropriate support strategies.Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Social Sciences department and across the wider school.Contributing to curriculum development and the wider life of the school.What you'll need to succeed

Has a passion for Health and Social Care and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.Has the ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students.Has high expectations of all students and is committed to raising achievement.Can adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.Has a good understanding of Health and Social Care and the ability to make learning relevant to students’ future education, training and employment.Builds positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues and families.Is committed to working collaboratively as part of a supportive and ambitious team.Is enthusiastic about their own professional development and contributing to the wider school community.What you'll get in return
