About this role

The Role:

New City College is seeking a committed and inspiring Lecturer in Business to join our dynamic teaching team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality education across a range of business programmes, including college-based qualifications and workforce development, from entry level to Level 3 and foundation degree level.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of our learners aged 14–19 and adult students, helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed for academic and career success.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and effective teaching across a range of business subjects, including BTEC and foundation degree programmes. Act as a personal tutor/course coordinator, supporting students’ academic and personal development. Contribute to curriculum development in line with national standards, local needs, and employer expectations. Prepare and assess learning materials, monitor student progress, and provide constructive feedback. Participate in student recruitment, admissions, enrolment, and induction processes. Liaise with employers and external agencies to support student placements and career progression. Maintain accurate course records and contribute to quality assurance and review processes. Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.

Who You Are:

A degree in Business or a related field A recognised teaching qualification Experience teaching a broad range of business subjects, particularly within the RQF BTEC Business Framework. Strong communication and organisation skills, with a student-centred approach to teaching. A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds. Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
