The Opportunity

Archaeology is seeking a Lecturer in Human Osteoarchaeology (Bioarchaeology).

The role holder will contribute to teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and undertake independent research. The post holder will play a leading role in the teaching of human osteoarchaeology (bioarchaeology); they will contribute to the delivery of the MSc in Human Osteoarchaeology and undertake teaching-related administration, including organisation of MSc- and honours-level courses, and supervision of UG and PGT dissertations.

The post is full-time (35 hours per week) for a fixed term of 2 years.

Your skills and attributes for success:

A completed and examined PhD in Human Osteoarchaeology (Bioarchaeology)/Palaeopathology, Biological Anthropology or a cognate discipline. Teaching and teaching administration experience (including seminars/lectures and labs/workshops/practicals) at postgraduate and undergraduate level. Collegiality and ability to work as part of a team. Evidence of engagement with scholarship and research, in the fields of human osteoarchaeology (bioarchaeology) and palaeopathology, commensurate with career stage Management skills, and ability to set targets and achieve goals within agreed deadlines.
