About the Role The Bates Lab at the Blizard Institute, QMUL, is offering a Postdoctoral Research Associate position for a four-month period. This position is part of an ERC starting grant (FROGMICRO) to investigate host control of the microbiome. The post-holder will apply bespoke peptidomics pipelines to characterise the antimicrobial peptide (AMP) repertoire of the amphibian skin and how it changes through host development.

About You We are seeking a motivated and proactive candidate, who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should have a PhD (or close to completion) in the relevant subject area for the research programme. Candidates should have experience in collecting and analysing amphibian derived AMPs using mass spectrometry and transcriptomic based methods.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students.
