The Service Plumber is responsible for providing professional plumbing services to commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. This position performs the inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, installation, and modification of a variety of plumbing systems, including hot water, domestic water, sanitary sewer, and ventilation systems. They respond to both scheduled and unscheduled service requests and perform preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, troubleshooting, and system repairs as needed.

The Service Plumber is also responsible for accurately identifying system issues, determining appropriate solutions, and communicating service findings and recommendations to customers, Account Managers, and Project Managers. Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and technical skills are essential to successfully perform this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and maintain an assigned commercial vehicle in all weather and lighting conditions while traveling to customer locations.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, replace, and modify commercial plumbing systems and related equipment.

• Perform backflow prevention testing and repairs in accordance with applicable requirements and company procedures.

• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled service calls, preventative maintenance, inspections, and site surveys.

• Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, management, dispatch, sales personnel, account managers, and project managers regarding service needs, findings, recommendations, and repairs.

• Support sales efforts by providing information and field findings for repair estimates, new maintenance agreements, and other customer needs.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of job activities, service findings, safety information, payroll, and other required records using applicable software systems.

• Manage time and prioritize service calls effectively to meet customer and operational requirements.

• Maintain the cleanliness, safety, serviceability, and overall condition of the assigned company vehicle and equipment.

• Provide professional, responsive, and customer-focused service while representing the company with integrity and ethical conduct.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.

• Work independently or as part of a team and adapt effectively to changing and unpredictable job-site conditions.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

• Enrolled in a union Apprentice School and/or a 5-year combination of experience.

• Steady work history with 2+ years in the HVAC/R commercial and industrial service business

• Earned EPA Universal License and OSHA 30 Certification

• Has a current driver’s license and an impeccable driving record

• Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent

• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, working a normal schedule of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, plus on-call opportunities. Work will typically be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, but can change daily based on customer needs. Standby duties are required for this position. Overtime and irregular hours are frequent. Daily travel to greater Atlanta, GA area service locations is required.
