About Nimax Theatres
Owned by Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer, Nimax Theatres is an entrepreneurial and innovative organisation that owns and operates six theatres in the heart of London’s West End – the Apollo, Duchess, Garrick, Lyric, Palace, and Vaudeville. Additionally, Nica Burns has built an exciting new flexible theatre located at the top of Charing Cross Road, @sohoplace, which has recently opened and has a close operational relationship with Nimax Theatres.
Our theatres currently have a combined capacity of 5,600 seats and, in addition to hosting some of the UK’s most critically acclaimed and successful plays and musicals, present a busy and varied programme of comedy, concerts and children’s theatre.

Key duties and responsibilities
• Assist the Head of Electrics and Deputy Head of Electrics in providing electrical and stage lights services for all performances, concerts and other activities as required.
Health and Safety
• Assist the Head of Electrics with the implementation and operation of the Company’s Health and Safety Policy at the theatre.
• Assist the Head of Electrics with the implementation and operation of the Company’s Emergency Procedures at the theatre, and carry out any specific duties required in the event of an emergency.
• Comply with method controls laid out in the theatre’s risk assessments.
• Ensure that health and safety equipment and PPE supplied is available and used correctly. Report any defects to the Head of Electrics.
Production
• Work with the Electrics Department, Company and Stage Management to ensure good communication and the effective and efficient running of the current production.
• Assist in ensuring the Production is maintained to the highest technical standards.
• Take ownership of an LX track, and carry out duties as required to a consistently high standard. This can include Stage LX, follow spot, or lighting board operator.
• Be familiar with the cues of each LX track in the production, and cover these when required.
• Support during reset for each performance.
• Support during rehearsals.
• Support during show maintenance.
• During get ins/outs of productions, fulfil manual tasks such as transporting equipment, set and lights around the building as required.
General
• Complete relevant training requested by the company as per the training needs analysis.
• Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Head or Deputy Head of Electrics or the Company.

Essential
• Understanding of health and safety.
• A flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

• Strong communication skills.
Desirable
• Experience of operating a follow spot.
• Experience of operating a lighting desk.
• Working at Height trained.
This role is offered on a 24-hour contract, worked over six days per week.
