About this role

Short summary of post

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Oxygen Bottle Servicing Specialist to establish and commission a compliant and efficient Aircraft Oxygen Bottle Servicing capability within our Workshop.

This is a key technical opportunity for an aviation professional with proven experience in oxygen bottle servicing and overhaul, who can combine hands-on technical expertise with the ability to establish a new workshop capability. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the facility, identifying and implementing the required resources, establishing compliant processes, and supporting the delivery of certified overhaul outputs.

The role offers the opportunity to play a leading part in building a specialised capability while ensuring all activities meet SACAA, EASA, OEM and internal quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the establishment and commissioning of the Aircraft Oxygen Bottle Servicing facility, including facility layout, workflow, tooling, equipment, test bench and environmental requirements.

• Identify and coordinate the acquisition of specialised tooling, equipment, approved technical data, manuals and other resources required for the capability.

• Develop and manage the implementation plan, including timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies and progress reporting.

• Perform hands-on Aircraft Oxygen Bottle Servicing overhaul activities, including inspection, disassembly, repair, reassembly and testing.

• Ensure all technical work is performed in accordance with approved maintenance data, OEM specifications and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Establish and maintain appropriate quality control processes and technical documentation within the overhaul function.

• Perform and issue SACAA/EASA release certification, where authorised and within the organisation's approved scope.

• Support regulatory audits, inspections and quality reviews.

• Ensure applicable certification and requirements are incorporated into the facility and servicing capability.

• Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency, reliability, quality and overall capability.

• Provide technical leadership and support the development of personnel as the capability grows.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) CAT X, Type M, Instrument Electrically Operated License.

• Minimum 8 years' experience in Aircraft Oxygen Bottle Servicing or a closely related technical field.

• Proven experience in an Aircraft Oxygen Bottle overhaul environment.

• Strong practical experience in overhaul, inspection and testing procedures.

• SACAA and/or EASA certification or authorisation relevant to the scope of work.

• Working knowledge of SACAA and EASA regulatory requirements.

• SANAS certification/competency relevant to the applicable servicing and testing requirements.

• Proven experience in workshop setup, capability development or technical project implementation.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical initiatives.

• South African Citizen or eligible to work in South Africa

• Valid Driver’s License.

Advantageous:

• Experience establishing a new AMO workshop capability.

• Experience with regulatory approvals, audits and certification processes.

• Experience in technical project management.
