NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB
The Security Officer assumes overall responsibility for the safety and security of the company by maintaining a safe and secure environment for the company’s employees, customers, and premises. The role encompasses monitoring, patrolling, access control, incident response, and responding to emergency preparedness.
SHIFT DETAILS
4 days on, 3 days OFF 1wk, then flip next week to 3 days ON w/ 4 days OFF
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; and permitting entry.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and restraining trespassers.
• Maintains the organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Inspect and patrol premises regularly.
• Monitor the property entrance and secure all exits, doors, and windows.
• Report any suspicious behaviours and happenings.
• Submit reports of surveillance activity.
• Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents promptly and escalate as necessary.
• Assist employees and visitors with any security concerns they might have.
• Badge checks: Validate that all persons accessing or onsite the building wear badges.
• Badge management issues badges to visitors or employees who forget theirs and collects them upon departure.
• Visitor clearance: receives and examines visitors.
• Surveillance scans—using the video feed from all entry and exit points.
• Any other tasks assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous military or police experience required.
• Physically fit and capable of standing, walking, and conducting security patrols for extended periods.
• Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
• Ability to respond appropriately to security incidents and emergencies.
