Continental Finance Company specializes in credit card options for those consumers with less than perfect credit. We are seeking a Credit Bureau Reporting Analyst to join our Operations team.
The Credit Bureau Reporting Analyst is responsible for conducting thorough investigations into complex financial disputes, including application fraud claims and bankruptcy filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial investigations, regulatory compliance, and customer dispute resolution. This position requires strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate nuanced customer situations with fairness and accuracy.
Essential Functions:
• Investigate and resolve disputes involving application fraud claims and bankruptcy filings.
• Analyze transaction patterns, account activity, and supporting documentation to assess legitimacy of application fraud claims.
• Submitting Automated Universal Dispute forms (“AUDs”) to the credit reporting agencies via e-Oscar when necessary to correct or update information.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to gather information and documentation to investigate and resolve complex disputes.
• Investigate bankruptcy cases via Pacer and other court record systems and ensure proper handling of accounts in compliance with bankruptcy law.
• Report findings clearly and concisely, documenting all investigative steps, evidence, and final outcomes in system of record.
• Coordinate with credit reporting agencies (Experian, TransUnion, Equifax) to resolve disputes and complaints when warranted.
• Coordinate with legal, compliance, and risk teams as needed for escalated or complex cases.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for escalated credit reporting dispute cases involving application fraud and bankruptcy claims referred by internal departments and third-party vendors.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal SLAs for dispute resolution.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, criminal justice, risk management, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
• 1+ years of experience in fraud investigations, credit reporting disputes, consumer disputes, financial services operations, or a related investigative role, preferably within the credit card, banking, lending, or consumer finance industry.
• Familiarity with credit bureau reporting and dispute processes, including experience with e-OSCAR and Automated Universal Dataforms (AUDs), strongly preferred.
• Strong investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate information from multiple sources, identify inconsistencies or patterns, and make sound, well-supported decisions.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when reviewing account information, court records, customer documentation, and credit reporting data.
• Ability to interpret and consistently apply established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and investigative standards.

CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)
