Position Summary Tenova Goodfellow Inc. (TGI) Process Engineer works in the Project Operations Department ensuring that process engineering objectives are fulfilled and the projects are executed according to TGI’s accepted practices. TGI is part of a global organization that supplies advanced technologies, products, and services to the metal and mining industries. As a world leader in providing advanced process control technologies, TGI focuses on improving energy efficiency in combustion intensive processes by using its proprietary extractive & optical sensor technology developed in co-operation with its strategic partners. Key responsibilities Perform process and data analysis, optimizing technical solutions and processes. Provide process engineering deliverables and field support. Contribute to technology development based on project feedback and experience. Collaborate with Sales to review documents and participate in project hand-off meetings, ensuring clear understanding of project requirements and objectives. Work with department managers to understand the strategic importance of active projects within TGI and Tenova globally. Manage contract requirements and customer relationships to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled, risks managed, and payments received timely. Establish project resources and commitments with department managers at project start-up and as needed. Conduct on-site customer kick-off meetings to define project objectives, deliverables, requirements, and schedules. Ensure comprehensive communication of project information to internal stakeholders via Project Charter documents and internal kick-off meetings. Monitor and control project budgets, providing updates and forecasts to TGI management. Ensure adherence to TGI’s project work practices, including processes, procedures, approvals, documentation, communication, and health and safety requirements. Plan, assign, communicate, execute, monitor, document, and report project activities to deliver quality service to stakeholders. Develop and manage relationships with internal and external project stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-efficient project execution. Transfer customer and project information to TGI’s Ongoing Service and Support department through documentation and hand-off meetings. Assist the Project Operations Manager in maintaining and improving project standards and practices. Support the recruitment and training of new Project Operations Department members. Provide technical support to Marketing and Sales for preliminary assessments of savings, project execution, deliverables, and schedules. Requirements Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electrical, or related field). 5+ years of related work experience, preferably in mechanical, chemical, electrical, combustion, or process control engineering in heavy industries (e.g., metals & mining, aluminum, cement, oil & gas, pulp & paper,). Experience in aluminum industry, electrolysis, and electrochemical processes and/or the Steel Industry, EAF, and BOF steelmaking is a significant asset. Proven ability to manage mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineering, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, preferably with international exposure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with familiarity in mass and energy balances, process modeling, and optimization techniques. Experience troubleshooting coding algorithms (e.g., Visual Basic, C++, Matlab, Python). Effective communication skills for interacting with internal and external customers, with the ability to present technical content and reports. Strong strategic thinking, planning, and time management skills with a hands-on engineering focus. Ability to manage multiple projects, handle issues, and make decisions in a time-sensitive manner. Project management experience is an asset. Well-developed negotiating and influencing skills. Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as a team leader. Willingness to travel internationally. Must be able to travel to foreign countries including the United States without restrictions.
