India Engineering Role (Resistance Spot Welding Technologist) Objective of the position We are looking to recruit Resistance Spot Welding Technologists to be part of our strategic project in India, experienced in welding operations. key accountabilities Experience and skills to develop new parameters to comply the drawing requirements Control and develop special processes required to support manufacture of components Understand the fundamentals of the welding process Data Card creation and modification skills Ensure that engineering specifications are satisfied for new part introduction and ongoing manufacture Provide technical support on special processes to ensure the site is NADCAP compliant, accredited in the required timescales Create, validate and maintain process compliance through both the generation of shop floor instructions and the participation in audit procedures Approve process data cards/procedures, process or stage drawings where appropriate Use of Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEAs), and Control Plans to “build in quality” Capture, analyse and use data to improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes. Application of lessons learnt Day to day planning of projects and resolution of technical problems Liaison with design, manufacturing, quality to ensure delivery of parts to set timescales and verifying the design intent has been met Support production to ensure product flow in the factory and drive continuous improvements to eliminate the need for concessions and rework Collaborate and share best practices to support development of local experts within team Work with interfacing teams to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing methods, processes are understood and accounted for as required Support to industrial development and commissioning / capability proving of new machines It is essential that the successful candidate You will need to be degree qualified (or equivalent) or have the technical experience/ manufacturing knowledge of either cold forming, laser cutting or conventional welding General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (MES, SAP, Teamcenter) Has supported manufacturing change, such as a facility move, technology insertion, new product introduction Has in-depth knowledge of materials widely used in the aerospace industry such as titanium and other alloys Sample visual inspection and interpretation, before metallographic evaluation Possesses a pragmatic decision-making ability, with the drive to resolve issues which arise in production environment Has excellent written and verbal communication skills Follows a data driven approach to problem solving Has a good understanding of quality management systems and special processes controlling procedures and documentation.
