Job Summary In this role, you will perform inspection of various finished goods and raw materials, manage equipment calibrations, product disposition, and various quality assurance tasks. • Visually inspect new and existing product and raw materials according to establish procedures or as instructed. Assist with product or raw material disposition decisions. • Manages calibration tasks for equipment and gauges by performing, documenting, and tracking calibrations for the Calibration Program. Coordinates with external vendors to schedule calibrations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Visually inspect new and existing product and raw materials according to establish procedures or as instructed. Assist with product or raw material disposition decisions. Manages calibration tasks for equipment and gauges by performing, documenting and tracking calibrations for Calibration Program. Coordinates external vendors to schedule calibrations. Obtain and analyze samples needed for inspection/evaluation of lining materials, resins, colorants, bags, etc. Aggressively monitors email for shipping documentation and other instructions. Maintain files/submit data and statistical documentation for material evaluations and other related operations. Assist shift employees with quality issues, as needed. Assisting in the training of manufacturing and support personnel in quality assurance related subjects, including certification to the QA equipment. Performing internal quality audits as part of the internal audit team. Troubleshoot and maintain various labratory equipment as needed. Participate in Quality Improvement activities. Provide backup coverage for QA Laboratory Measurement Technicians when needed. Actively participate and comply with all West HSE programs and regulations. Maintain a neat and orderly work environment in accordance with West SS program. Other duties as assigned. Keep current with new GMP compliance guidance and internal QA procedures Support new GMP compliance guidance and Data Integrity initiatives Education High School Diploma or GED Required 3 years on the job experience in a plastics manufacturing environment is preferred. Work Experience 3 years of job-related experience; in Quality Assurance / Quality Control. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must have excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills & be able to interface with employees in all levels of the organization; must possess good organization, time-management, negotiating & conflict resolution skills; excellent computer skills (including MS Office experience using Word & Excel) required. Ability to understand an interpret dimensional drawings. Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times. Travel Requirements 5%: Up to 13 business days per year Physical Requirements Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Additional Requirements Ability to learn, understand, and remember normal tasks. Ability to hear, speak, and understand conversation in English. Must maintain the ability to work well with others in a variety of situations. Must be able to multi-task, work under time constraints, problem solve, and prioritize. Read and interpret data, information and documents. Work under deadlines with constant interruptions. Shift This position is Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
