About this role
Genomics Co-Op Major Tasks We are seeking a highly motivated Genomics Co-op/Intern to support the development and application of long-read sequencing workflows for novel haplotype discovery in diverse germplasm. This project focuses on leveraging PacBio HiFi sequencing and advanced bioinformatics approaches to identify genetic variation beyond single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), including structural variants (SVs) and copy number variants (CNVs), that may contribute to valuable agronomic traits. The successful candidate will work at the interface of computational biology, genomics, and plant breeding to develop scalable analytical pipelines, characterize novel haplotypes in diverse germplasm, and evaluate strategies for incorporating genetic variation into breeding applications.
