What you will do: The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading the Business Development team and supporting the commercial growth of EDP's distributed generation and energy solutions business in Italy. The role combines leadership, technical-commercial expertise, project development, bid management and stakeholder coordination. The successful candidate will manage a multidisciplinary team responsible for the preparation, costing and negotiation of complex energy solutions including photovoltaic plants (PV), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), grid connection and electrical infrastructure upgrades, e-mobility solutions and other distributed energy projects. The Business Development Manager acts as a key link between Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, Delivery, Asset Management and senior management, ensuring that competitive, technically sound and financially viable solutions are delivered to customers. Team Leadership Lead, mentor and develop the Business Development team. Define team priorities, workload distribution and performance objectives. Ensure high quality and timely preparation of commercial offers, tenders and technical proposals. Foster collaboration across departments and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Commercial Development & Sales Support Support Sales teams in developing business opportunities and converting prospects into projects. Participate in customer meetings, commercial negotiations and technical workshops. Build strong relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors and equipment suppliers. Support strategic decision-making throughout the sales cycle. Bid & Proposal Management Oversee the preparation of bids, tenders and commercial offers for private and public customers. Coordinate technical, commercial and contractual reviews before submission. Ensure offers meet profitability, risk and strategic objectives. Support negotiations of commercial, technical and contractual terms with customers. Technical and Financial Assessment Supervise technical and financial evaluations of PV, BESS, electrical infrastructure and e-mobility projects. Review business cases, CAPEX estimates, profitability scenarios and investment assumptions. Support the preparation of financial simulations and project economics analyses. Evaluate project risks and opportunities together with Engineering, Delivery and Legal teams. Product & Process Development Drive the continuous improvement of quotation methodologies, pricing tools and offer templates. Coordinate implementation of new business development processes and digital tools. Support the development of new products, services and go-to-market strategies. Ensure consistency and quality of commercial and technical documentation. Cross-functional Coordination Work closely with Procurement on supplier strategy, equipment sourcing and cost optimization. Cooperate with Engineering and Delivery teams to ensure technical feasibility and successful project execution. Coordinate with Legal teams on contracts, risk allocation and compliance matters. Collaborate with Asset Management and other global functions on technical and commercial best practices. Management Reporting Prepare reports, forecasts and presentations for senior management. Provide visibility on pipeline, opportunities, risks, margins and market developments. Support Country Management and Regional Management in strategic decision making. Employment type: Full Time Work model: Hybrid What are we looking for Degree in Engineering, Energy, Business Administration or a related field. 5+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Engineering, Project Management or related functions within the renewable energy sector. Experience in EPC, renewable energy project development or distributed generation. Knowledge of Italian renewable energy market and regulatory environment. Experience with utility-scale or C&I PV and BESS projects. Familiarity with contractual negotiations, procurement processes and supplier management Strong understanding of distributed generation, photovoltaic systems, BESS, electrical infrastructure and energy services. Experience managing public tenders and complex commercial proposals. Proven experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen and financial understanding. Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership skills. Fluent Italian and English.
