Job Title: Project Manager – Industrial ConstructionJob DescriptionThis role is for an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale industrial construction projects based in Memphis, Tennessee. You will manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams. The position focuses on industrial and commercial construction and requires expertise in project controls, contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, and client management, as well as the ability to travel or relocate for a multi-year assignment. Responsibilities • Lead large-scale industrial construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are achieved. • Coordinate and communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to align project objectives and resolve issues promptly. • Oversee project controls, including budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting, to keep projects on schedule and within budget. • Manage project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to meet critical deadlines and contractual commitments. • Administer contracts and change orders, ensuring compliance with terms, documentation standards, and risk management practices. • Provide day-to-day project coordination, including planning work sequences, assigning tasks, and monitoring field activities for quality and safety. • Collaborate with estimating teams to support project bids, budgets, and forecasts for industrial and commercial construction work. • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, regular progress updates, and responsive issue resolution. • Identify and mitigate project risks related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and implement corrective actions as needed. • Prepare and present project status reports to internal stakeholders and external partners, highlighting key achievements and challenges. • Ensure all project work complies with relevant codes, standards, and specifications for industrial and commercial construction. Essential Skills • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management. • Proven background in manufacturing and industrial construction projects. • Demonstrated experience in project management for large-scale construction initiatives. • Strong skills in project controls, including budgeting, cost management, and schedule control. • Experience in contract administration and change management for construction projects. • Ability to coordinate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams. • Experience in project coordination across multiple stakeholders and disciplines. • Ability and willingness to travel or relocate for 2–3 years to the project location in Memphis, Tennessee. • Knowledge of industrial construction practices, processes, and standards. • Experience with commercial and industrial construction estimation and planning. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with general contractors on large-scale industrial projects in the Midwest. • Strong client management and relationship-building skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements. • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with diverse project teams. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting. • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under time constraints. Work EnvironmentThis position is based onsite in Memphis, Tennessee, at an active large-scale industrial construction project. You will work closely with field teams, subcontractors, and professional partners in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment. The role may require extended stays in the project location and the ability to travel or relocate for 2–3 years. You will be part of a well-established general contracting organization that focuses on industrial projects throughout the Midwest, offering exposure to complex construction work and collaboration with experienced construction professionals. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
