Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Quality Technician supports a comprehensive, enterprise-wide Quality Management System in a fast-paced, cross-functional manufacturing environment. This role focuses on inspecting and evaluating incoming parts and assemblies, maintaining accurate quality documentation, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to drive continuous improvement in product quality and safety. Responsibilities • Perform sample inspections and measurements of incoming parts to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards. • Process non-conforming materials for testing or disposition, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution. • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) for new parts and parts from new suppliers, and document results clearly and accurately. • Complete internal quality audits and maintain associated documentation in accordance with established procedures. • Interpret engineering prints and schematics to support inspection activities and verify that parts meet design requirements. • Support safety and quality initiatives such as 5S, ESD, FOD, and ISO-related practices throughout the facility. • Assist in the Material Review Board process by evaluating non-conforming materials and contributing to disposition decisions. • Maintain quality information systems, including accurate entry, tracking, and updating of inspection and audit data. • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing quality data, and make recommendations based on findings. • Review, analyze, and report on quality discrepancies, using engineering documentation, prints, inspection data, and schematics to identify root causes and trends. Essential Skills • Two-year technical degree required; four-year technical degree preferred. • Experience working with precision instrumentation and complex electromechanical systems. • Ability to interpret engineering prints, schematics, and technical documentation. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and documentation requirements. • High standards of accuracy, rigor, and timeliness in all inspection and reporting activities. • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, reporting, and documentation. • Comfort working in a fast-changing manufacturing environment with evolving priorities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Four-year technical degree in a relevant field is preferred. • Familiarity with quality management systems and internal audit processes. • Understanding of safety and quality programs such as 5S, ESD, FOD, and ISO. • Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data to support continuous improvement initiatives. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing clear reports and documentation. Work EnvironmentThis position is based fully on site in a manufacturing environment that emphasizes collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement. Team members work closely with engineering, operations, and other cross-functional groups in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. The facility provides a catered lunch daily and offers free parking in an on-site parking lot. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
