Network Analyst
Summary: Serves as a member of a team of network analysts required for performing complex divisionwide support for functional networks and applications systems to include network configuration, installation, problem determination, and documentation.
Qualifications: Required
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. • Four (4) years of experience in network configuation, installation, troubleshooting, documentation, and software applications support, three (3) years of which shall have been in routing protocols, switch operations, and hub theory. • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
• May work flexible hours to meet the needs of the school/community. • Knowledge of theory, concepts, and practices of network administration, functional applications, and remote access services. • Expertise and knowledge of, principles and practices of networking technologies. • Skill in equipment used to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and communicate. • Ability to plan and lead a team. • Ability to write detailed reports, specifications, user instructions, and contract documents. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred
• Certifications in current technologies.
Major Duties/Essential Functions: • Leads and performs specialized complex support for functional networks, using authorized application systems; prepares correspondence and reports on technical functions including specifications. • Develops and implements site administration and security guidelines best practices. • Resolves system administration problems in a production-defined environment. • Monitors existing networks and develops growth plans. • Administers and manages the migration of networks. • Trains team members as required. • Installs network upgrades and patches. • Administers security and adds/deletes users. • Manages remote access services. • Presents technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences using language appropriate to each. • Works with customers in pre-and post-implementation use of an enterprise network. • Works flexible hours to meet the needs of the school/community. • Remains current on new developments in computer technology and related fields through professional and technical journals, seminars, conferences, and training opportunities. • Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements: This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
