Assistant Professor or higher (Endocrinology)
Position Description: Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Major/Essential Functions: • Provides Endocrinology consultations and clinical services in an inpatient/outpatient setting • Collaborates with leadership group(s) to improve quality of care in inpatient setting • Engages in extensive and on-going communications with community primary care physicians • Completes all medical records and documentation accurately and timely to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements • Participates in multidisciplinary outpatient responsibilities, based on candidate’s interest • Supervises residents and participates in teaching activities for medical students and/or residents • Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties • Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility • Ensures compliance with HIPPA and billing regulations • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures • Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso
Preferred Qualifications: • Board certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine • Experience in teaching medical students and residents • Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher

Required Qualifications: • M.D. or D.O. degree • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism • Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine • Texas medical license or eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas
