Job Description: At the BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) Westminster, Colorado location, we develop and manufacture state of the art RF and sensor technologies. If you’d like to join our growing operations team in a mission to enable our uniformed service members to go forth bravely and return home safely, this could be an ideal role for you. The Production Learning Center Operations Manager will be integral in supporting the readiness of our production team members, as well as transitioning our people capabilities from development to rate production environment and across different campuses. This role will initially require a heavy focus on strategy and project management to understand the current condition of production staffing and onboarding operations and drive toward improved design and scaling of those processes to meet the growing business needs.

Drive the strategic planning process and execution for the production learning center operations. Manage learning center operations. Translate customer defined value into measurable processes and capabilities. Develop resource plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Maintain safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel for a growing team within the Tactical Production & Test Operations department.

The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

What You’ll Do: • Lead the production learning center. • Define strategy and execution plan for learning center objectives. • Develop roadmap for learning center execution. • Coach and develop team members in applying lean thinking/ problem solving approach to improving learning center processes. • Identify resource needs and define business case for learning center operations. • Identify learning center operations performance measures and goals that align to customer defined value. • Build systems that turn daily work into continuous shared knowledge. • Align workflow design, team training, and feedback loops. • Guide teams through structural or technological shifts.. • Define process for continuously understanding employee engagement and process or communication pathways for improvement. • Plan for future staffing needs and employee career paths. • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. • Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions: • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Skills and Education: • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 6 or more years related experience. • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. • Systems Thinking: Seeing how one process or variable impacts the wider business • Change Management: Facilitate through change for the enhanced adoption of new processes and organizational transformation. • Facilitation: Leading productive meetings, debriefs and cross-functional problem-solving sessions. • Communication: Both sending and receiving, defining communication pathways for productive team management, individual listening and sharing, team/ group listening and sharing. • Coaching: Comfortable providing 1x1 coaching and guidance to team members and direct reports. #LI-AD2A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Preferred Skills and Education: • Data Literacy: Reading operational metrics to separate real trends from random noise. • Lean management system knowledge or experience. • Problem solving approach and mindset that aligns with a lean management system.
