About this role

We are seeking a talented individual to join Marsh’s Faith & Education Claims Advisory team, based in our Sydney office. This is a hybrid role with a requirement to work from the office at least three days per week.

In this role, you will provide end-to-end claims advisory and advocacy support to clients and brokers across the Faith & Education sector, with a particular focus on professional standards and safeguarding-related claims, including sensitive abuse matters. You will manage a portfolio of claims and incidents, coordinate key stakeholders, and help identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and grow the business—while operating with discretion, empathy and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.

We will count on you to:

• Manage professional standards / safeguarding claims (basic to moderately complex) in line with Marsh processes, client service agreements and insurer requirements, escalating to senior colleagues and specialist areas where appropriate. • Provide trauma-informed claims support by communicating with sensitivity and professionalism, recognising confidentiality requirements and the potential for vulnerable stakeholders and complex dynamics. • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, insurers, legal advisers, investigators, treatment/support providers and other external stakeholders, ensuring timely, accurate and appropriate engagement. • Accurately record incident and claim information (including sensitive data) in Clearsight and other required systems, and prepare routine correspondence using Marsh templates and agreed client wording protocols. • Drive claims strategy and progress outcomes by assisting with liability and quantum considerations, coordinating document collection, and supporting settlement pathways (including insurer response management and dispute resolution where required). • Advocate for clients by helping prepare clear commercial and technical responses to insurer coverage positions and liability decisions, including responses to denials or restrictions of indemnity. • Support new and expanded business opportunities by contributing claims insights and de-identified trend data for tenders, renewals and proposals (e.g., incident themes, claims drivers, insurer performance and process improvements). • Participate in client and prospect meetings to support claims reviews, triage processes, and safeguarding risk conversations, referring broader opportunities to senior colleagues as appropriate.

What you need to have:

• High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with sensitive information, strict confidentiality requirements and competing deadlines. • Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied portfolio, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality file notes and documentation. • Professional judgement and discretion when handling sensitive abuse matters, including an ability to work within established governance, safeguarding and reporting frameworks. What makes you stand out:

• Experience in claims management/advisory within professional indemnity, liability, accident & health, or similar lines—especially where matters involve vulnerable people, safeguarding issues, or high reputational sensitivity. • A client-focused, calm and empathetic approach, with an interest in building trusted long-term relationships across Faith & Education clients. • Confidence working collaboratively in a team environment, and independently managing tasks with appropriate escalation and stakeholder engagement. • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to help draft clear, respectful and technically sound insurer correspondence and client updates.

Why join our team:

• We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders—alongside specialists in complex Faith & Education claims. • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create solutions and have meaningful impact for colleagues, clients and communities. • Our scale enables a broad range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
