About this role

Job summary

We are seeking to recruit highly motivated and innovative practitioner to join our Isle of Wight Team as a Community Health Nurse. This is a fixed term 12 month position.

You will work primarily with children from pre- birth to 5 years and their families, alongside experienced Health Visitors to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. The Healthy Child Programme is an evidence-based programme that focuses on supporting children and families with screening, immunisation, health and development reviews, supplemented by advice around health, wellbeing and parenting.

Main duties of the job

Community Health Nurses work within the 0-19 Service delivering the Healthy Child Programme through the 5 mandatory contacts and through short- and medium-term interventions which include infant feeding, behaviour and parenting.

To plan, implement and evaluate packages of care at Universal, Universal Targeted and Specialist levels of the Healthy Child Programme which is led by Health Visitors and Public Health Nurses.

To work in partnership with other agencies and families and contribute to innovative ways of working within children and families.

Qualifications Essential

Registered Nurse or Midwife.
