An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner. This is an opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to work within our Inreach/Outreach team and to join our multidisciplinary Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CCAMHS) on the Isle of Wight.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our CAMHS Team, you will be joining a strong and supportive group of professionals who will be your peers inspiring colleagues. You will play a crucial role in providing and being responsible for ensuring the provision of safe services for all people using the Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
The post holder will support the Inreach Outreach service to ensure the delivery of crisis pathway for young people and their families using the service. You will be expected to manage a caseload of young people who are in psychiatric crisis, and you will have co-ordination responsibility for the young people. The role involves MDT working and bespoke packages of care that are evidence informed and following NICE guidelines standards. The post holder will carry out comprehensive assessments and interventions supported by the team within Tier 3 CCAMHS and hold their own caseload.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible in collaboration with the team for crisis assessments and interventions of children and young people referred to our service: the ability to make balanced decisions and use a positive approach whilst managing potentially high risk situations is an essential part of the role. The post involves interagency liaisons with all the local authority and third sector services. Child and Family Social Services, Education department and other agencies, as required. The post will primarily be based at the CCAMHS clinic and you may also be required to work with young people and their families within their own home or Paediatric ward at the local hospital St Mary's.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Professional degree or equivalent qualification in nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other relevant profession with related CAMHS experience. All applicants will require professional registration with a statutory body: the Nursing Midwifery Council, General Social Care Council, Health Professional's Council, and Chartered Clinical Psychologists by BPS. Past qualifying training in CAMHS or therapeutic approaches with children and young people and their families.
