Job Description

Overall Job Purpose

• The position provides an opportunity to develop professional competencies, gain industry knowledge, and acquire hands-on experience through exposure to operational and business processes. • The learner will be expected to bring new ideas, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn while participating in activities related to their field of study and career aspirations. • The learner will be expected to contribute to departmental objectives while adhering to company policies, procedures, and health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Specific Job Responsibilities

• Learn and understand the overall business operations and departmental functions. • Assist with day-to-day departmental activities and assigned projects. • Support data collection, analysis, record keeping, and report preparation. • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental objectives. • Participate in operational activities, inspections, audits, and site visits where applicable. • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and filing systems. • Attend meetings, training sessions, toolbox talks, and workshops. • Provide suggestions and ideas for process improvements and operational efficiencies. • Learn and become proficient in relevant company systems, processes, and procedures. • Fulfil tasks assigned by the supervisor, mentor, or departmental management. • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and code of conduct requirements. • Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)

• Demonstrate commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental stewardship. • Comply with all mining regulations, company safety procedures, and operational standards. • Correctly use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required. • Identify and report hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly. • Participate actively in safety meetings, training, and awareness initiatives. • Promote a safety-first culture and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

Experience

• 0-1 years relevant work experience or industrial attachment, internship, or volunteer experience in a reputable organization.

Qualifications

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate. • Trade/Craft Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in a relevant field of study. • Academic disciplines may include: • Mining Engineering • Metallurgical Engineering • Mechanical Engineering • Electrical Engineering • Geology • Environmental Science • Occupational Health and Safety • Human Resources • Training and Development • Finance and Accounting • Business Administration • Supply Chain Management • Information Technology • Corporate Social Responsibility • Public Relations • Risk Management • Asset Management • Administration • Or any other relevant discipline.

• All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
