The Principal/Associate Principal Engineer – PLM (Teamcenter) Business Product Owner is responsible for defining, governing and continuously enhancing Teamcenter and associated PLM capabilities to support Dyson's product development objectives. Acting as the primary business owner for Teamcenter on behalf of Product Development, the role works closely with Engineering, RDD IT, process owners and business stakeholders to ensure PLM capabilities deliver measurable business value.
The role owns the business capability view of PLM, ensuring process, data, governance and platform evolution remain aligned across Product Development. It serves as the critical bridge between business process ownership and technology delivery, ensuring Teamcenter capabilities, processes and data structures remain aligned to Dyson's engineering operating model and future product lifecycle management strategy.
About the role PLM Product Ownership & Strategy
• Act as the primary Business Product Owner for Teamcenter and associated PLM capabilities (e.g. NX, EDM, TcPCM, TcRA) on behalf of end-to-end Dyson Product Development.
• Translate Dyson's PLM strategy into deliverable capability roadmaps and business priorities.
• Owns the business capability roadmap, priorities, value case and outcome definition, while partnering with RDD IT, Technical Product Owners and architecture teams who remain accountable for technical design, platform delivery and implementation execution.
• Ensure PLM capability development aligns with Dyson's Product Development strategy, engineering process requirements and digital thread objectives.
• Support development of future-state PLM and Enterprise architecture and operating models.
Product Roadmap & Prioritisation
• Own the Teamcenter business backlog and capability pipeline.
• Evaluate business demand and prioritise enhancements based on value, risk, complexity and strategic alignment.
• Define business requirements, capability specifications and success criteria.
• Facilitate prioritisation activities with Engineering, DDIO and RDD IT stakeholders.
• Maintain visibility of capability plans, dependencies and delivery priorities.
Platform Governance & Continuous Improvement
• Govern the lifecycle of Teamcenter capabilities from concept through deployment and adoption in partnership with technical delivery owners.
• Ensure effective governance of product data, configuration structures, engineering change and release management processes.
• Define business ownership boundaries across Teamcenter and connected enterprise platforms.
• Monitor platform performance, business adoption, capability effectiveness and agreed business outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement of Teamcenter governance, processes and user experience.
Business Process Integration
• Collaborate with Engineering Process Owners to ensure Teamcenter supports and continuously improves Dyson's engineering lifecycle processes and digital engineering workflows.
• Support the evolution of the digital thread across Dyson's product development lifecycle.
Programme Delivery & Transformation
• Support delivery of Teamcenter Foundations and future PLM transformation initiatives, ensuring business requirements are translated into effective platform capabilities.
• Partner with RDD IT and implementation teams to ensure deployments are business-ready, adopted effectively and deliver agreed value outcomes.
Stakeholder Management
• Build strong relationships with Engineering, DDIO, RDD IT, Quality, Manufacturing and Regulatory stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted subject matter expert for Teamcenter and Product Lifecycle Management.
• Facilitate alignment between business objectives, process requirements and technical delivery.
• Influence decision-making through evidence-based recommendations and clear business cases.
• Holds business decision authority for Teamcenter capability priorities, business requirements, value trade-offs and adoption readiness, within agreed PLM governance.
About you Professional experience
• Significant experience working with Siemens Teamcenter or equivalent enterprise PLM platforms.
• Experience acting as a Product Owner, Business Owner or Capability Owner for complex enterprise platforms.
• Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle processes including requirements, configuration, change and release management.
• Experience defining business requirements and working with technical teams to shape effective platform solutions.
• Experience within complex product development environments and managing competing stakeholder priorities.
• Experience supporting large-scale PLM transformations with a strong understanding of digital thread, systems engineering and product lifecycle management principles.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional decision-making.
