Sprayberry Animal Hospital is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our small animal veterinary team in Marietta, GA. We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital who is comfortable providing patient care, supporting veterinarians, and working as part of a collaborative medical team. Responsibilities may include: Assist veterinarians with wellness, sick-patient, and follow-up examinations Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and medical information Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments Prepare patients for procedures and assist with routine treatments Assist with surgical procedures, including patient preparation, surgical setup, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery Monitor hospitalized and post-operative patients and communicate changes to the medical team Assist with triage of urgent cases and help direct patients to appropriate emergency care when needed Perform or assist with venipuncture, blood collection, and IV catheter placement based on training and experience Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian Assist with radiology, laboratory testing, dentistry, and other diagnostic procedures Accurately document treatments, diagnostics, medications, and client communications in the medical record Provide clients with clear and compassionate communication regarding patient care and discharge instructions Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment, exam, and surgical areas Work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and client service team members to keep patient care moving efficiently
