About this role

Job summary

High Lane Medical Centre is seeking to recruit an experienced Healthcare Assistant for16 hours weekly over 2 days Mondays and Wednesdays 8am to 4.30pm. There is also the requirement to undertake Home visits and be available for Saturday working. We are currently contracted to provide 6 Saturdays per annum.

The successful candidate will be fundamental in providing Healthcare Support to our Nursing Team to ensure patients receive the best possible personal care.

IT literacy is essential. Experience of EMIS Web, TQuest and Accurx is desirable, however, not essential for the right candidate Previous experience of phlebotomy is essential. Must be accurate and have a strong desire for attention to detail. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or working towards.

About us

High Lane Medical Centre is situated in a semi-rural area, 10 mins from Stockport and 30 mins from Manchester. We are a forward-thinking training practice, supportive of continued education, personal development and focused on providing high quality patient care to approx. c.7,500 patients. You will be joining an enthusiastic, well led and innovative practice team comprising: a principal GP, eight assistant part-time GPs, practice manager, six receptionists, 2 administrators, two secretaries, two practice nurses and a healthcare assistant. We have 2 small residential care homes and a large number above average of elderly patients.

Our local federation is Viaduct Care who provide us with a pharmacy hub team, seasonal respiratory hub clinics, First Contact Practitioner (physio), Well-being Coordinator, Mental Health practitioner, and additional care coordinators. We host other services, in house; minor surgery, Midwifery services, Ultrasound, Audiology, joint injections, coil insertions and implants.

We were ranked No. 1 surgery in England in 2022. Our last CQC rating was GOOD in 2020. We were recently ranked joint number 1 practice in Greater Manchester, and 12th In England. We are an active member of our local Primary Care Network which includes practices from Marple, Romiley and Hazel Grove.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Essential GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths Qualified in Phlebotomy Experience of NHS IT systems

Desirable

Qualified to administer Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccines Qualified to NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care Previous experience of working as a HCA in a GP surgery Have knowledge of and work under Care Certificate standards
