ABOUT THE ROLE As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support the nursing team in the delivery of patient-centred care across the ward environment. You'll assist with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical duties, helping patients maintain their comfort, dignity and independence while contributing to the smooth running of the department. Main duties of the job In this role you will:
Welcome and support patients and visitors within the ward environment. Assist patients with personal care needs including hygiene, dressing and nutrition. Monitor and record observations including weight, pulse, temperature and blood pressure. Undertake urine testing and escalate concerns to a Registered Nurse. Support patient mobility using appropriate moving and handling techniques. Assist with infection prevention and control procedures. Help maintain a clean, safe and organised ward environment. Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues. Support stock management and general ward administration duties. Promote patient dignity, independence and wellbeing at all times. About us To be successful in this role, you'll have:
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards further qualifications. Experience caring for others in a health, care or support setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A professional and compassionate approach to patient care. The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Good organisational skills and the ability to work in a busy environment. A flexible and positive attitude with a commitment to delivering high quality care. Previous experience working in a hospital or ward environment would be advantageous.
