Job summary
Medicus Health Partners is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our supportive multidisciplinary team. This is a part-time, fixed-term opportunity comprising four morning sessions per week, working across MHP Alma Healthcare Centre and MHP Enfield Island Surgery. The contract will run until 31 March 2027.
As the largest GP partnership in Enfield, we provide primary care services to more than 94,000 patients across nine practice locations. Our practices operate as one integrated partnership, sharing clinical systems, expertise and resources to deliver accessible, high-quality patient care. We also work collaboratively with neighbouring practices and healthcare partners through Enfield Unity Primary Care Network.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred medical care to registered and temporary patients across the agreed Medicus Health Partners sites.
The role will include conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations, assessing and managing acute and long-term conditions, prescribing safely, arranging referrals and investigations, reviewing test results and completing associated clinical correspondence. The post-holder may also undertake home visits where clinically appropriate.
You will manage your own clinical workload, maintain clear and accurate patient records and work in accordance with current clinical guidance, practice policies and professional standards. You will collaborate with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals and administrative colleagues to support safe and coordinated patient care.
The role also includes contributing to clinical meetings, quality improvement, audit, safeguarding and the continued development of effective primary care services.

Job description Job responsibilities ROLE SUMMARY
The post-holder will work four morning sessions per week across MHP Alma Healthcare Centre -three sessions and MHP Enfield Island Surgery -one session.
They will manage a varied patient caseload and provide high-quality, patient-centred medical care to registered and temporary patients. The post-holder will assess, diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of health needs while maintaining high clinical and professional standards.
They will work collaboratively with the Practice Partners and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and responsive primary care services.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the Practice.
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
Providing counselling and health education.
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes.
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding handwritten prescriptions whenever possible).
Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
Ensuring that all work carried out which carries a private fee is properly recouped and accounted for; e.g. Medical Reports, Insurance reports, Private letters to third Parties etc.
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES WITH THE PRACTICE:
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the Practice.
Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records.
Contributing to the summarising of patient records and accurate Read-Coding of patient data.
Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
