Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our 16-bedded Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) on a 12 month secondment to cover maternity leave.
This is a fantastic development opportunity for nurses looking to expand their acute care skills. You will gain experience in a high-acuity environment and contribute to a service that plays a vital role in patient safety and recovery.
Our ECU supports patients who require closer monitoring, enhanced observation, and more complex nursing interventions than a standard ward environment. You'll be part of a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at the hospital site. Remote interviews will not be available. The validity of Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN will be checked before shortlisting (Only applicable to registered roles) - inaccuracies in NMC PIN details will mean your application will not be progressed. Main duties of the job
o Undertaking timely and accurate clinical assessments, observations, and interventions.o Escalating concerns appropriately and contributing to early recognition of deterioration.o Working collaboratively with the MDT, including Critical Care Outreach, medical teams, and allied health professionals.
o Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive learning environment.
o Maintaining excellent documentation and ensuring safe, effective handovers.
o Upholding Trust values and promoting a culture of safety, dignity, and continuous improvement.
