About this role

Job summary

This post will focus on driving business development activities and expanding OHCT's capabilities in clinical research with a particular focus on Trust research priorities such as Immune Effector Cell Therapies. The role will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategies to enhance our research portfolio and foster collaborations with industry partners. To ensure the financial sustainability of our clinical trials initiatives, this position will be involved in financial management, overseeing non-commercial funding and commercial trial income, collaborating closely with the OHCT Clinical Trial Manager to monitor profitability and areas for reinvestment. This role will not only enhance Oncology and Haematology research opportunities at Guy's and St Thomas' Trust but also, provide a competitive edge, facilitating the development of new therapies and granting more researchers and patients access to trials and treatments.

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing timely set-up of Commercial and Non-Commercial clinical trials, including directing and line-managing the set-up team including the OHCT Set-Up Specialist and Imaging and Pathology Coordinator as well as a team of data managers.

Main duties of the job To lead the feasibility, set-up, financial management, and business development functions for commercial and non-commercial clinical trials within OHCT, ensuring studies are delivered efficiently, aligned with organisational priorities, financially sustainable, and supported by strong stakeholder partnerships.

Knowledge/Qualifications Essential

Educated to masters degree or equivalent
