About TransPerfect Games TransPerfect Games is a leading provider of bespoke and flexible videogame services, including localization and translation, functional and localization testing, certification testing, focus group and playtesting, player support and community management, cybersecurity and penetration testing, tool development, art design, game writing, GDPR consultancy, and voice-over recording. Role overview We are looking for on-site freelance linguists to support game localization and linguistic QA from English into French / Spanish (Spain) / Spanish (LATAM) . You will translate, revise, and perform LQA to ensure our game content is linguistically accurate, consistent, and culturally resonant for target players. You will work closely with developers and Localization Project Managers in a cross-functional environment. What you will do Translate in-game content , UI strings , narrative text , and marketing materials from English into the target language (FR / ES-ES / ES-LATAM). Edit/revise localized content to ensure accuracy, fluency, terminology consistency, and style-guide compliance. Conduct Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA) : identify, fix, and/or report issues such as grammar, spelling, punctuation, mistranslations, context inconsistencies, and UI constraints (e.g., truncation/length). Maintain the intended tone and voice while adapting for cultural differences and audience expectations. Provide linguistic and cultural input in creative/narrative discussions when needed. Coordinate with Localization PMs to meet timelines, manage deliverables, and maintain linguistic assets (glossaries, style guides, references). What we are looking for Native-level proficiency in French or Spanish (Spain) or Spanish (LATAM) (please specify in your application) and fluent English. 2+ years of professional experience in game localization for the relevant language pair(s). Strong knowledge of target-market culture and the ability to localize creatively (not literal translation). Familiarity with localization tools and workflows (CAT tools, TMS/CMS). Excellent attention to detail and strong quality mindset. Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Passion for gaming; familiarity with mobile gaming trends is a plus. Degree in Translation/Linguistics or a related field is a plus.
