This role can be remote as a consultant or as an employee based in Malta.
A taste of what you’ll do
The Development Team Lead drives the design, implementation and delivery of full-stack solutions while leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of Software Engineers. This role requires excellent communication, leadership and software expertise and work within a fast-moving environment to deliver solutions that have broad business impact.
• Owning the design, implementation, and delivery of full-stack solutions
• Reporting on status of development, quality, and system performance
• Working closely with engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.
• Hiring, coaching, and mentoring Software Engineers
• Designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining innovative software solutions
• Establishing and maintaining the use of software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables.
• Writing high quality distributed system software
• Contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems
• Performing code reviews
• Collaborating with other teams and departments to gather and/or share information relating to team activities.
• Any other task/responsibility which may be related and/or connected to the role of Development Team Lead
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Considerable experience in a software development
• Leading experience and using Agile Development methodologies (facultative)
• Strong background in contributing to the architecture and designing new and current systems
• Possess working knowledge of Unix/Linux and object-oriented programming in PHP, Java or C#
• Strong software development qualities including the ability to drive creative and innovative solutions to complex problems, good technical judgment, clear communication, engagement, and teamwork; and can drive quality.
• Experience in fostering a culture of modern engineering practices
• Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of MySQL, distributed revision-control tools, and modern JavaScript framework.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills driven, proactive & enthusiastic with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
