Project Manager
Our client is a growing commercial general contractor specializing in tenant improvements, interior build-outs, renovations, façade improvements, and commercial construction projects for a diverse portfolio of repeat clients. Operating as a construction management firm, they oversee every phase of the project while partnering with a trusted network of subcontractors to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget. Their projects range from several thousand dollars to multi-million-dollar commercial developments across the greater Pittsburgh area.
Responsibilities
• The Project Manager will oversee multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously, managing both the preconstruction and construction phases to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
• Prepare conceptual estimates by reviewing construction drawings, understanding project scope, and soliciting pricing from subcontractors.
• Manage commercial construction projects from award through closeout while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and profitability.
• Coordinate subcontractors and manage contract administration, including subcontract issuance and change orders.
• Develop and maintain project schedules while coordinating trade sequencing and project milestones.
• Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, submittal follow-up, and document recirculation.
• Conduct regular job site visits to monitor project progress, coordinate subcontractors, and participate in owner and construction meetings.
• Communicate regularly with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal team members to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Prepare weekly meeting minutes and maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project costs, identify potential budget overruns, and proactively implement solutions to maintain profitability.
• Manage project closeout activities, including punch lists, final documentation, and client turnover.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail.
Qualifications
• The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial construction Project Manager who is comfortable owning projects from estimating through completion and thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
• Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
