TENAX Technologies is seeking a Software Developer to support mission-critical applications and enterprise systems for our Navy customer in Washington, DC. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies supporting critical Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) missions. What You'll Do
As a Software Developer, you will:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications using Java and Python.
• Develop secure back-end services, APIs, and microservices utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful architectures.
• Build and enhance modern web-based user interfaces and front-end applications.
• Design, develop, and optimize databases using Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL technologies.
• Integrate applications with enterprise systems, cloud services, and mission-critical data sources.
• Support software deployments through DevSecOps pipelines, including automated testing, security scanning, and release management.
• Implement secure coding practices and support compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF controls, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software, database, and system performance issues across development, test, and production environments.
• Support system modernization initiatives, technology refresh efforts, and cloud migration projects.
• Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, and release management.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, API documentation, and deployment procedures.
Required Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI access.
• Must possess and maintain a current DoD 8570/8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or Level III certification, including approved certifications such as Security+ CE, CySA+, SSCP, CND, GSEC, CASP+ (SecurityX), CISSP, GCED, GCIH, or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of software development experience.
• Experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Python.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, web services, and database-driven applications.
• Experience with source control systems, automated testing, and modern software development best practices.
• Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, microservices, and cloud-native application development.
• Experience supporting applications hosted in AWS cloud environments.
• Experience supporting DoD, U.S. Navy, Intelligence Community, or Federal Government programs.
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), DISA STIGs, secure software development practices, and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
• Experience in integrating applications with enterprise platforms and mission data sources.
