About this role

About REBEL

REBEL is the first and largest tech platform transforming retail's $1 trillion returns problem into a smarter, more sustainable model. As the only Certified B Corporation returns recommerce marketplace backed by top-tier investors, we're leading the returns revolution—partnering with over 2,500 top brands to give shoppers unbeatable deals of up to 70% off on open-box products, while keeping millions of pounds of returns out of landfills every year.

This role is for a maker: someone with real taste, fast hands, and strong instincts for what works on the internet.

The Role

The Brand & Social Media Manager runs REBEL's day-to-day organic presence across social. You'll plan, create, publish, and iterate on content that grows our audience and makes people feel the REBEL thrill of the find.

You'll work directly with the CEO and leadership on what REBEL should be saying, then own turning that into a content calendar and a steady stream of posts, videos, and reactive moments. You'll report on what's working and bring a point of view on what to try next.

This is a hands-on role. There is no agency and no layer between you and the work.

What You'll Own

Social Channels & Content

• Run REBEL's social channels day-to-day—Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms

• Build and manage the content calendar; plan, shoot, edit, write, and publish

• Create reactive content against trends and cultural moments, fast

• Maintain a consistent posting cadence without sacrificing quality or brand fit

• Test and iterate on formats, hooks, and story angles; kill what isn't working

Community Management

• Own comments, DMs, and community engagement across platforms

• Surface what the REBEL community is saying and feed it back to the team

• Turn customers and fans into repeat commenters, sharers, and advocates

Creator Coordination

• Source and reach out to creators; manage day-to-day communication and logistics

• Brief creators so their content feels native and on-brand

• Track creator content performance and flag standout partners

Reporting

• Track and report on organic reach, impressions, engagement, and follower growth

• Bring a recommendation, not just a number—what the data says we should do next

What You'll Support

• Brand voice. Apply REBEL's voice and style guidelines consistently, and flag where they need updating as channels evolve

• Earned media. Support PR efforts with content, assets, and social amplification of coverage

• Partnerships and events. Contribute content and coverage for co-marketing partnerships and IRL moments

• Cross-functional work. Partner with growth, creative, and product on campaign support and launch content

What We're Looking For

Experience

• 4–6 years in social media, content, or brand marketing; e-commerce or marketplace experience a huge plus

• A portfolio of content you personally made—not decks about content other people made

• Demonstrated growth of a brand or creator account on at least one major platform

• Comfortable with a phone camera and editing tools (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)

• Experience reporting on social performance and adjusting based on it

• Startup, challenger brand, or creator-economy experience strongly preferred

Skill Set

• Strong writer with a distinctive voice and good instincts for a hook

• Deep, current understanding of how content spreads on social platforms

• Strong POV on what works—and what doesn't—on the internet today

• Organized enough to keep a calendar moving while staying reactive

• Comfortable operating without agencies, big teams, or safety nets

Mindset

• Builder mentality with a bias toward action

• Genuinely enjoys creating, editing, posting, and iterating

• Low ego, high standards, strong opinions, loosely held

• Energized by speed, experimentation, and ownership

• Wants to grow into leading brand and social at a company that's scaling

Why REBEL

• Own REBEL's voice on the internet with real creative latitude

• Direct access to founders and executive leadership

• Real ownership and visibility on a small team

• Rocket-ship growth with meaningful upside

• A clear path to grow with the role as the brand scales
