Morrison Center is seeking a Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP), to be based in Scarborough, Maine

Morrison Center is hiring an additional Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP).

We are looking for a compassionate Direct Support Professional with experience providing community-based support to individuals with disabilities. Skilled in promoting independence, assisting with daily living activities, assisting in community engagement, and supporting person-centered goals. Dedicated to enhancing quality of life through advocacy, inclusion, and respectful, individualized care. Must have a valid drivers license.

• Pay: $20 - 27/hour.

• Monday – Friday: 8am – 4pm.

Requirements of the Direct Support Professional

• HS Diploma or GED Required

• DSP Certification preferred but will train the right candidate!

• CRMA or willing to take CRMA to pass medications

• CPR/First Aid Certification

• Safety training such as Mandt, Safety Care, etc.

• Prior experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

• Valid Maine Driver’s license required and a clean driving record

• Experienced with transfers in and out of wheelchair, using a lift, and is comfortable working in someone’s private home.

Responsibilities of the Direct Support Professional:

• Willing to transport clients out into the community

• Provide personal care, showers, toileting, dressing etc.

• Supporting clients to help them reach and maintain plan of care goals and activities.

• Have a good understanding of what community supports is

• Gives hands on and eyes on care and support for clients
