Harvest Healthcare Solutions is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Employment Specialist / Job Coach to support adults with developmental disabilities in building employment skills, exploring career interests, and achieving greater independence in the workplace.

The ideal candidate understands person-centered thinking and enjoys helping individuals identify their strengths, interests, abilities, and employment goals.

This position provides individualized support based on each person's needs, preferences, and goals while promoting independence, dignity, choice, and meaningful community participation.

Position Summary

The Employment Specialist / Job Coach will work directly with adults with developmental disabilities to develop employment-related skills and support individuals in pursuing and maintaining meaningful employment.

You will help individuals move from career exploration and job readiness to workplace success and employment retention.

Pay Rate: $21 - $22 per hour (DOE)

Employment Type: Part-Time / Full-Time | Flexible Scheduling

Employment-Related Skills You Will Support

Job Readiness

• Develop basic employment skills and workplace expectations.

• Help individuals prepare for the job search process.

• Support development of appropriate workplace routines.

• Encourage independence and self-confidence.

Workplace Behavior

• Teach appropriate workplace communication and behavior.

• Support understanding of employer expectations.

• Develop interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Reinforce professional workplace habits.

Resume & Interview Preparation

• Assist individuals with developing and updating resumes.

• Practice completing employment applications.

• Conduct mock interviews.

• Teach appropriate interview communication and presentation skills.

Job-Site Skills

• Provide individualized coaching and support at the job site when appropriate.

• Teach job-specific duties and workplace routines.

• Support appropriate interaction with supervisors and coworkers.

• Gradually support fades as the individual develops independence.

Maintaining Employment

• Help individuals develop strategies for successful employment retention.

• Support punctuality, attendance, communication, and workplace responsibilities.

• Identify employment barriers and develop person-centered solutions.

• Communicate appropriately with the individual's support team when concerns arise.

Exploring Career Interests

• Help individuals identify career interests, strengths, skills, and preferences.

• Explore employment opportunities that align with individual goals.

• Support community-based career exploration.

• Encourage individuals to make informed choices about their employment goals.

Person-Centered Approach

Harvest Healthcare Solutions believes employment services should be person-centered and individualized.

The Employment Specialist / Job Coach will:

• Respect each individual's choices, preferences, and goals.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide individualized employment coaching and support.

• Assist participants in developing employment goals.

• Support job readiness and workplace skill development.

• Assist with career exploration and job searches.

• Support resume development and interview preparation.

• Provide job-site coaching as appropriate.

• Track participant progress toward identified goals.

• Maintain accurate and timely service documentation.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and members of the individual's support team.

• Follow program policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

• Promote participant independence and reduce reliance on paid support whenever appropriate.

• Participate in required staff meetings, training, and supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, preferably in a TDS, employment services, day program, vocational, ILS, SLS, DSP, or related setting.

• Understanding of person-centered practices.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the assigned service area, when required.

• Ability to document services accurately and timely.

• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience as a:

• Employment Specialist

• Job Coach

• Direct Support Professional (DSP)

• Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructor

• Supported Employment Specialist

• Vocational Rehabilitation professional

• TDS staff member

• Developmental Disabilities Case Aide

• Behavioral Health or Human Services professional are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

Starting Pay: $21 - $22.00 per hour (DOE)
