FOOD SERVICES TECHNICIAN
INDUSTRIAL SETTING (SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT FACILITY)
BASIC FUNCTIONS
• The basic functions of the Food Services Technician are preparing meals and snacks, ensuring a high level of daily nutrition, and participating in the planning and preparation of food for all facility fundraisers and special events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Train, direct and supervise client crews in proper procedure for performance of their jobs.
• Prepare well-balanced and ethnically diverse meals.
• Maintain cleanliness standards in all kitchen and food storage areas.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health code regulations.
• Inventory and rotate food to ensure freshness.
• Adhere to posted menu. (Any menu changes must be approved by supervisor).
• Prepare meals for clients with special medical and / or nutritional needs.
• Assist with meal ticket sales.
• Report kitchen equipment maintenance issues to Supervisor immediately.
• Assist Supervisor in ensuring prompt payment of invoices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Food Services Manager and / or the Food Services Assistant Manager.

EDUCATION / TRAINING
• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
• Must have at least six months experience in culinary field.
• Must be able to successfully pass CRI-Help's motor vehicle insurer's requirements to drive company vehicles.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Must be able to use hands and fingers in grasping, pinching, chopping, pulling, and lifting associated with preparing and cooking foods using knives, utensils, and cookware for durations of 6 - 8 hours.
• Must be able to remain in a standing position for 6 - 8 hours.
• Occasional crouching below the waist and / or above the shoulders.
• Occasional lifting and / or moving of objects up to 75 pounds.
• Occasional pushing and / or pulling of objects up to 75 pounds.
• Occasional work may be performed at various locations across Los Angeles County.
• Frequent travel between facilities in a company van is required.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
• Must be willing to undergo random drug screenings.
