Job Description: This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery.

We are seeking an ESRI developer to strengthen our ArcGIS platform capabilities and address a critical skills gap within a highly specialized geospatial ecosystem. This role will be instrumental in advancing enterprise GIS initiatives, supporting mission-critical applications, and enabling scalability of geospatial data services across the organization.

Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solutionDefine the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipelineGuides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance -e.g. pairing, code reviewsProvides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program levelConducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and featuresWorks with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirementsDesign, develop, and maintain applications leveraging the Esri ArcGIS platform (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online)Build and support web GIS applications using technologies such as JavaScript APIs, ArcGIS SDKs, and REST servicesCollaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable geospatial solutionsSupport and optimize map services, feature services, and geodatabasesPerform system integrations across enterprise platforms, including security, data pipelines, and external vendor systemsTroubleshoot and resolve complex GIS-related issues across environmentsContribute to modernization efforts, including cloud adoption and evolving architecture strategiesDocument solutions and help build long-term institutional knowledge within the team Required Qualifications:

1-5 years of experience (flexible by level) working with Esri ArcGIS technologiesHands-on experience with:ArcGIS Enterprise / ArcGIS ServerArcGIS OnlineArcGIS JavaScript API or SDKsStrong understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data, and geodatabasesExperience with Python, JavaScript, or .NET for geospatial developmentFamiliarity with REST services and API integrationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Desired Qualifications:

Experience supporting large-scale, enterprise GIS environmentsKnowledge of Esri system architecture, deployments, and upgrades (e.g., 11.x environments)Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, automation)Experience working with vendors (e.g., Esri technical teams)Understanding of networked systems and security considerations for GIS applications Skills:
