What you'll do:

To ensure the effective procurement of materials, components, major work packages and servicesTo coordinate the procurement activities for designated vendors within a commodity groupAccountable for overall performance of assigned vendorsTransacts MRP demand signals through the timely Issue of purchase ordersEnsures all Purchase Orders are acknowledged by the vendor baseActions MRP exception messages , schedule ins/out and cancellations in a timely mannerReviews and manages the open Purchase Order book and MRP to ensure component/service deliveries are delivered in line with requirementsEnsures latest projected dates of supply dates from vendors are maintained accurately on the ERP system to ensure production lines of balance are accurateManages the communication and embodiment of change, making amendments to requirements, schedule and price as requiredEnsures all issues preventing supply are worked to resolution i.e. FAIR, NCR, technical, and commercial change etc.Analyses and processes supplier notificationsActs as master data owner for purchased part recordsMonitors delivery status of scheduled receipts to ensure on time delivery to needMonitors, evaluates and reports on the performance of suppliersEnsures timely disposition and return of any non-conforming supplier material, ensuring rapid replenishment to support production needsManages day to day procurement activities including internal and vendor communications; negotiating schedule, delivery and pricing with vendorsDeploys responsible supply chain management practices in accordance with company policy Performs all operations according to appropriate regulations, e.g. FARs, DFARs, Import/Export (ITAR, EAR) and in accordance with business standardsCo-operates with management to meet the employer's legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field, or significant industry experience Skills:

Able to efficiently and effectively transact within MRP/ERP systemsStrong influencing skills; able to operate at a senior level within supplier organisationsTenacious in developing and driving performance from the vendor base, and holding internal stakeholders to accountTakes ownership and accountability for resultsClear understanding of when to escalate issues both internally and with suppliersDrive and enthusiasm, desire to learnCapacity to solve problems, analyse data, and to recall and apply complex information Trustworthiness and professionalism with clients, peers and team members in line with all relevant Corporate Social Responsibility policiesConsistent and positive style in challenging situationsExcellent inter-personal skills Self starter capable of chasing issues to resolutionDemonstrate established experience working in a supply chain organization. Previous experience as a buyer within a technology company (ideally mechanical/electrical/aerospace)Experience influencing and negotiatingStrong background of supplier Relationship managementTechnical knowledge of commodities being managed Able to work within challenging financial and time constraintsCIPS certification or other relevant professional qualifications advantageous (e.g. CPM, CPIM) The successful applicant will be in contact with US ITAR controlled technology, goods, and information. As a condition of employment, employees with access to US ITAR controlled technology and goods may be required to undergo an additional screening process as part of the recruitment process.
