Role Purpose Develop and maintain effective health, safety, environmental programs, and contribute to a workplace where employees can work confidently, knowing that their health and safety are prioritized, and where environmental sustainability is a core value. Key Accountabilities Strategic Contribution Ensure effective cascading of the HSSE strategy into operating plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies. People Management Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the HSSE department by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating staff to maximize sectional performance. Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned department, collaborating with technical/discipline experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements. Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned department to foster a value driven culture within the organization. Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures Manage and ensure effective implementation of policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of HSSE department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service. Key Accountabilities Operational Direction Develop, communicate, and implement HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. Identify potential hazards and assess risks in the workplace. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents. Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees at all levels in order to promote awareness of safety practices, emergency response procedures, and environmental protection. Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near-misses and identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry groups, to promote HSE initiatives and share best practices. Key Accountabilities Continuous Improvement Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction. Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) Management Manage the effective implementation of corporate policies, procedures, and processes to promote a culture focusing on the achievement of world class standards in QHSE and sustainability within HSSE in line with regulatory requirements. Reporting Ensure that all HSSE reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet Nesma & Partners requirements, policies, and quality standards. Technical Essential Education/Certification Bachelors in Engineering, or any other related field. Experience 6 years’ related experience with 2 years’ experience with growing managerial accountability in roles within similar positions. Languages English Skills Project Management, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance Knowledge, Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment, HSSE Expertise, HSSE Regulation & Compliance. Techical Preferred Education/Certification Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar certifications. Experience Experience in the EPC industry.
