About this role

About the role The Sr. Buyer is responsible for ensuring quality, delivery and cost for assigned purchased commodities (raw material, components, and supplies) and contracts, so as to ensure the success of the manufacturing facility. This position could be in either the Honeoye Falls, NY location or the Concordville, PA location. Compensation: $75,000-$90,000 Annual Broad Based Bonus: 15% What you will be doing Responsible for planning, organizing, and awarding designated contracts and agreements Place purchase orders for new and existing production materials Research and make recommendations for alternative suppliers Assure the timely delivery of quality raw material, components, and services Administer Purchasing Card Program Provide management with forecasts of market conditions, price trends, and potential problem areas Maintaining a general knowledge of technical requirements involved with assigned commodity responsibility so they are fully understood by suppliers Investigate cost reduction/avoidance opportunities Provide functional guidance to buyers Review progress for departmental goals and objectives Purchase capital equipment Professionally resolve problems (both internal and external) in a fair and ethical manner About you Bachelor’s or technical degree in related area, relevant job experience in lieu of degree. Minimum five years Purchasing Experience. C.P. M. Certification Working knowledge of MRP, Demand Flow or Lean Manufacturing Excellent communication/negotiating skills SAP experience preferred How will we reward you Competitive base pay Generous time off – starting at 3 weeks of annualized PTO (first year is prorated based on start date), 9 company holidays plus 2 floating holidays 401(k) Savings and Investment Plan – Company makes automatic 2% contribution of eligible pay plus matching contributions of 50% up to the first 6% of eligible pay you contribute.
