About the role We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a SHES Systems and Assurance Officer (12-Month Contract) to join our team at Orica’s Yarwun operations. In this hands-on, site-based role, you will help strengthen the systems, processes and assurance activities that support safe, compliant and reliable operations. Working closely with employees and leaders across the site, you will contribute to the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment and Security practices within a dynamic Major Hazard Facility environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and adaptable professional who enjoys working with people, improving systems and turning information into practical safety outcomes. You will gain broad exposure across assurance, critical controls, investigations, reporting and operational risk while contributing to Orica’s strong commitment to safe and responsible operations. What you will be doing Support the implementation, review and maintenance of SHES systems, procedures and standards; Coordinate audits, inspections and assurance activities, including verification of critical controls; Assist with incident investigations, risk assessments, corrective actions and lessons learned; Prepare SHES reports, dashboards and performance updates for site stakeholders; Support SHES planning and monitoring activities during maintenance shutdowns and turnarounds; Partner with operational teams to strengthen safe work practices and system compliance; Contribute to continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement and site community initiatives. What you will bring Relevant qualifications in SHES, engineering or risk management, or equivalent practical experience; Experience across safety, environment, quality, risk, compliance, operations or industrial systems; Confidence working collaboratively with operational teams in an industrial environment; Strong systems capability, including data analysis, reporting and presentation preparation; A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to learn technical concepts and apply them practically.
